Academic Writing Portfolio and UCSB Professional Writing Program
As part of my coursework at UC Santa Barbara, I’ve built a portfolio that showcases a range of academic, professional, and creative writing. My collection includes examples of grant proposals, marketing copy, analytical essays, and digital communication projects each emphasizing clarity, audience awareness, and strategic storytelling. I’m currently part of UCSB’s highly selective Business Communication track within the Professional Writing Minor, which accepts only 25 students each year. This program has strengthened my ability to craft persuasive messaging, conduct audience research, and produce writing tailored to business, marketing, and nonprofit contexts.
This project was completed as part of my Business Communication course, where we collaborated with real clients to deliver professional marketing materials. My team partnered with the UCSB Sustainability Department to support CycleMAYnia, a month-long initiative encouraging staff and faculty to ride bikes throughout May in an effort to promote sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
I was responsible for designing event flyers that effectively captured attention while aligning with the campaign’s messaging and goals. This experience strengthened my ability to create purposeful, client-focused visual communication. To explore my work, you can click on the left to view the flyers I designed, and on the right to see our full client deliverable document, which includes news releases, memos, and additional team materials.
These two projects were developed as final assignments for my Business Writing courses, where I had the opportunity to combine my creativity with my interests in fashion and technology. The project on the left, StyleSync, is an AI-powered fashion styling app designed to provide personalized outfit recommendations based on user preferences, trends, and wardrobe data. The project on the right, SwitchFit, is a clothing exchange app tailored for college communities, allowing students to trade pieces within their university to promote affordability and sustainability.
Both projects challenged me to think strategically about branding, user experience, and market positioning while clearly communicating innovative ideas through professional business writing. Click on the left to explore StyleSync, and on the right to learn more about SwitchFit.
The Turner Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports low-income individuals and families in the Santa Barbara community. During my time with the foundation, I developed outreach materials and grant proposals to help fund essential community programs.
One featured example is a successful outreach letter that secured backpacks and school supplies for local children, demonstrating my ability to craft persuasive, impact-driven writing. This experience strengthened my skills in grant writing, donor communication, and storytelling for social good, while deepening my understanding of how clear communication can drive meaningful change.

Study Abroad Writing
During my semester studying abroad in Florence, Italy, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in fashion marketing and entrepreneurship while learning in one of the world’s most influential fashion capitals. This final project reflects both the creative and strategic skills I developed during that experience.
On the left is my fashion marketing project, where I created a new campaign for Dolce & Gabbana in celebration of their 40th anniversary, blending brand heritage with a modern perspective. On the bottom is my marketing project, where I developed an original “Made in Italy” product concept called Spritz, a clothing scent brand inspired by Italian lifestyle and luxury. These projects allowed me to explore global branding, storytelling, and product development through a culturally immersive lens.
